Carmit Schwartz

Carmit is a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Economic Research (CAER), UNSW Sydney. She holds a PhD in Economics from UNSW Sydney. Her research focuses on microeconomics theory and economic measurement. She has developed theoretical frameworks for the measurement of the benefits of public infrastructure and amenities to households, and worked on firm level productivity analysis using the Australian Bureau of Statistics BLADE (Business Longitudinal Analytical Data Environment) data.

Her current research focuses on the measurement of households’ production of digital leisure services. This includes development of new methodologies to align with current aspirations for the national accounts from the “GDP and beyond” literature, encompassing all types of leisure activities undertaken by households (digital and non-digital).
